This poster is something I made in the first semester of my first year as a graphic design student.
The assignment was to make a typographic poster to advertise a theatershow named "Antigone." Antigone is a greek story/tragedy so that's why I went for a somewhat dark concept. I used mainly the colors red, black and white to keep it as serious and cold as possible, since it's not a play for little children.
I also used a downhill cemetery as main element, this has multiple reasons. First of all Antigone got buried alive so I tried to put that detail into the poster, that also explains the cross. But downwards going lines and objects also generally give of a less positive and more intimidating "vibe" so that's why I decided to put that in as well.
